Thing Tank: The First three Years

The Center for Material Culture Studies is celebrating the first three years of Thing Tank, the CMCS’ signature research forum for UD faculty and graduate students. Thing Tank brings together a small group of established and emerging scholars to explore a major topic in material culture studies. As a year-long cohort, Thing Tank fellows workshop writing-in-progress and participate in public talks by prominent guest lecturers, field trips, and workshops.

At “Thing Tank: The First Three Years,” we will share highlights of the first three iterations of the forum with remarks from Wendy Bellion, Kedron Thomas, and Mónica Domínguez Torres. We will also introduce the 2025-2026 Topic Director, Jennifer Van Horn. Petra Clark and Hillary Kativa will guide us on the Library’s Special Collections exhibit, “What They Saved: Souvenirs and Mementos.” A reception will follow.

The event will occur on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 5:30 pm in the Classroom of 1941
