Founded in 2000 at the University of Delaware (UD), the Center for Material Culture Studies is a national leader in humanities scholarship and interdisciplinary collaboration. From grants to symposia, internships to fellowships, CMCS advances research, learning, and public engagement about the wide world of material things.
In 2020, CMCS celebrated its 20th anniversary. To mark the occasion, we invited 20 people who have been integral to the Center’s success and longevity to share an object that they find meaningful in their work as a researcher and teacher of material culture.
